The Sriracha Cookbook eCard

So, maybe of course you wanted to buy a copy or twelve of The Sriracha Cookbook for you and your Sriracha-loving friends this holiday season… but noticed that it won’t be released until January 18th?

Well, there’s good news! Check out the swanky new Sriracha Cookbook eCard! You can print it out or email it to your hot sauce dependent buddies just in time for the holidays… whether they’ve been naughty or nice. Sriracha doesn’t judge or discriminate.

So, even though The Sriracha Cookbook won’t be released in time for Christmas, you can still give it as a gift! Order the book and let them know it’s on its way with the fancy schmancy eCard. Everybody wins, and nobody will even have to sit on some greasy mall Santa’s lap. Hallelujah!

Announcing: The Sriracha Haiku Contest!!

Enter to win an advance copy of The Sriracha Cookbook: 50 Rooster Sauce Recipes That Pack a Punch, autographed by the author! While the rest of the world waits until its publication on January 18, YOU can get yours early!

I’m looking for clever, creative haikus all about Sriracha! Your haiku must be an original composition, and should have three lines, each containing a certain number of syllables: five, seven, and five, respectively.

Example:
steamed rice bowl boring
apply sriracha heavy
taste burning pleasure

Just “Like” The Sriracha Cookbook on Facebook and enter your haiku by December 31st. Your haiku needs to incorporate the words “sriracha”, “rooster sauce”, or “cock sauce” in some way.

You can also enter to win on Twitter! Simply follow @SrirachaBook on Twitter, then send your haiku as a Tweet with the tags @SrirachaBook and #SrirachaHaiku!

Only one entry is allowed per person through Facebook. There’s no limit to the number of haikus you can enter through Twitter. Winners will be selected from all eligible entries on or around January 1, 2011.

Sriracha Bitters

External image

Kara Newman is quite the expert with spicy cocktail recipes. Hell, you could say she wrote the book on spicy drinks… um, cuz she did. (Spice & Ice…check it out!) And today, on her Twitter feed, she mentioned something grand: Sriracha Bitters.

Now, The Sriracha Cookbook features a few Sriracha cocktail recipes, like the “Bleeding Mary” and another developed by my dear friend Christopher Day which features gin, tomato vodka, cucumber, Sriracha, and orange bitters… but with the news of these Sriracha bitters, it looks like there’s some more heavy drinking recipe research in my future.

Check out Kara’s Q&A with the creator of Sriracha bitters, Mark Buettler. And do yourself a favor: order a bottle and order her book.
