Stir-Fried Garlic & Sriracha Shrimp recipe

This tasty-looking recipe (and photo!) come to us from Marvin Gapultos, author of the Filipino food blog, Burnt Lumpia. The spicy, sweet, and tangy appetizer takes less than 10 minutes to prepare, and if you’re not a fan of head-on shrimp, you can substitute peeled and deveined shrimp in their place.

Definitely looking forward to Marvin’s first cookbook—The Adobo Road Cookbook: A Filipino Food Journey—in April 2013!

“The Southpaw” from The Manila Machine

LA’s favorite Filipino food truck, The Manila Machine, is serving up a special sandwich this week in honor of Filipino boxer and national icon Manny Pacquiao, who will be fighting Antonio Margarito tomorrow.

The sandwich, dubbed The Southpaw (Pacquiao is left-handed), is an open-faced toasted pan de sal roll topped with The Manila Machine’s signature sisig (spicy calamansi-marinated pork jowls), sriracha mayo, crumbled chicharon, onions, a fried egg, banana ketchup, and a bonus drizzle of sriracha for good measure.
